FESSH 2025 was the 30th congress of Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand, held in Helsinki in 2025

The project involved creating a visual identity and digital presence for a major international medical congress. The aim was to craft a look that felt both professional and distinctly Finnish — understated, clean and minimalist — while functioning across web, print, and on-site event materials.

Event Identity

Event Identity

Visual Identity with a Finnish Design Approach

I designed the full visual identity for FESSH 2025, including the logo, typography, and colour palette. From the beginning, the goal was to reflect qualities associated with Finnish design: clarity, quiet confidence, and minimalism. These principles guided both the visual tone and the structure of the event website, which presented congress information in a clean, intuitive way suitable for an international audience.

Extending the Identity to Event Materials

In addition to the digital identity, I designed physical materials such as roll-ups and flyers for use at the congress. The identity system was built to be consistent, adaptable, and easy to apply, ensuring that additional assets — produced later by others — would still align with the original look and feel.

The result was a cohesive event presence that carried the same understated, polished aesthetic from online platforms to the physical venue.

The final identity provided a calm, structured, and recognizable visual foundation for this large international congress at Finlandia Hall. By combining Scandinavian minimalism with a practical, scalable design system, the event gained a clear and modern look that could support both present and future materials.
